We are now seeking an experienced and forward‑thinking Head of Mammography and Bone Mineral Densitometry (BMD) to join our leadership team and drive excellence across our Mammography/BMD services.
About the Opportunity
The Head of Mammography & BMD provides clinical leadership across the modality and is responsible for shaping its strategic direction, driving quality outcomes and supporting our highly skilled workforce. The role balances clinical practice with leadership, planning, and continuous improvement initiatives.
You’ll work closely with senior clinical and operational leaders to advance modality performance, deliver exceptional patient care, and support the growth and capability of the Mammography/BMD team.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead modality strategy, clinical standards and continuous improvement
- Own and enhance Mammography/BMD protocols
- Deliver high-quality clinical services and ensure best practice
- Oversee quality control, compliance and equipment performance
- Support technology adoption and training on new equipment
- Lead and mentor the Mammography/BMD workforce

We are seeking experienced Casual Sonographers to support our clinics across Adelaide.
This role is ideal if you are looking for flexible work, variety across clinics, or an opportunity to experience Radiology SA’s teams and ways of working, with the option to explore part-time or full-time opportunities in the future if it suits both you and RSA.
You will deliver high-quality ultrasound examinations across a range of specialties while working alongside experienced Radiologists and multidisciplinary clinic teams.
In This Role, You Will
- Perform ultrasound examinations across general, obstetric, musculoskeletal and vascular imaging
- Provide a calm, professional and empathetic experience for patients
- Work collaboratively with Radiologists and clinic teams to support accurate diagnosis and care
- Ensure documentation, billing details and systems are completed accurately and on time
- Monitor equipment performance and report faults or issues promptly
- Support trainees and share knowledge where appropriate
About You
You are an experienced Sonographer who values quality, teamwork and patient care. You will bring:
- Current ASAR registration
- Demonstrated experience in a similar sonography role
- Strong communication skills and a patient-focused approach
- Willingness to work across RSA sites
- Commitment to maintaining professional accreditation and attending required training
- A valid Working with Children Check (or willingness to obtain)

Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct imaging examinations across our clinics, adhering to RSA protocols and safety guidelines.
- Complete departmental documentation accurately and promptly.
- Be part of a dynamic team who works together to produce a high-quality service to patients
Apart from a commitment to high-quality work, exceptional communication and teamwork, to be successful in this role you will need:
- AHPRA Registration and an EPA SA Radiation License.
- Proven experience in a similar role.
- Flexibility to work out-of-hours on a rostered or on-call basis across our sites.
- A passion for continuous learning through in-house training and meetings.
- Commitment to maintaining accreditation through seminars and lectures.
- A current Working with Children Check.
- Modality training in CT, MRI, or Mammography is a plus but not essential.
